What is spam • Spam refers to junk mail, which is sent in mass quantities. On an average, three fourth of the email sent everyday is spam. • Spammers find email addresses by searching on websites through computer hacking and viruses. These lists are then passed on to other spammers. • Spam emails can be harmful and contain viruses, while some of them might have only fake information. • Be aware that you do not get involved in the tactics used by some people to hack your passwords or other important private information. This is known as phishing. • There is an option to filter out spam emails into a separate folder, so that your regular inbox is not filled with the unimportant stuff.
